Artist Statement

My work emerges from an intimate dialogue between gesture, intuition, and the subconscious. Rooted in Abstract Expressionism, my process is one of exploration—an unfiltered flow of marks, rhythm, and emotion that transforms the canvas into a living narrative. Guided by music and instinct, I embrace spontaneity, allowing each movement to inform the next as I discover layers of meaning in real time.

The process itself is sacred, grounded in experimentation and freedom. By relinquishing control—closing my eyes, engaging with materials in unconventional ways, and immersing myself in the tactile connection with the canvas—I create works that are raw, honest, and reflective of the present moment. Each painting is not a destination but a snapshot of an evolving relationship between myself, my environment, and the language of abstraction.

A significant element of my practice lies in rediscovering a childlike quality in my work. Children create with purity and confidence, unburdened by societal constructs of perfection. Through tapping into this youthful spirit, I access a playful, uninhibited approach to painting, allowing marks to exist as they are, free from overthinking or expectation. This childlike lens breathes spontaneity and authenticity into my process, creating a dynamic balance between instinct and intention.

For me, making art is not about a finished product but about capturing the energy, rhythm, and spirit of creation. My practice invites viewers into this space of discovery, where imperfection is celebrated, emotion becomes tangible, and the freedom of expression takes center stage. Through my work, I aim to explore not just what it means to create, but what it means to live artfully.
